Fragility Curves and Probabilistic Seismic Demand Models on the Seismic Assessment of RC Frames Subjected to Structural Pounding

This study aims to evaluate five different methodologies reported in the literature for developing fragility curves assess seismic performance of RC structures subjected structural pounding. In this context, displacement-based and curvature-based are developed. The use probabilistic demand models (PSDMs) on assessment pounding risk is further estimated. Linear bilinear PSDMs developed, while validity assumptions commonly used produce a PSDM examined. Finally, influence PSDMs’ derivation fragilities effect identified. examined cases involve interaction between adjacent that have equal story heights (floor-to-floor interaction). Results indicate structure suffers not affected by when level controls behavior exceeded at low levels IM.
